What is a Long Block?

A long block includes the fully assembled cylinder head, valvetrain, timing system, and rotating assembly (crank, rods, pistons) inside the block. It does NOT include external bolt-ons like the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, carburetor, distributor, starter, or alternator. You will transfer these parts from your old engine or purchase them separately.

• Engine Identification: This long block is for the Toyota 4Y 2.2L engine ONLY. It is NOT compatible with 3Y (2.0L) or 5Y (2.5L) engines. Please confirm your engine code reads "4Y" before ordering.

Installation & Warranty Tips

1. Inspect and clean your existing manifolds and accessories before installation.
2. Replace all external gaskets (intake, exhaust, thermostat, water pump) with new ones.
3. Prime the oil system by pouring clean oil into the oil filter housing and cranking the engine without spark plugs.
4. Follow Toyota's torque specifications for head bolts (3-stage torque + 90° turn) and main bearing caps.
5. Initial break-in period: Run at varied RPMs under light load for the first 50 hours of operation.
